Blessed with constant sunshine, yet plagued by power cuts, surrounded by sea, yet often short of water, Hvar Island presents the challenge of sustainability. Our landscape for the luxurious Amfora Hotel, Croatia comprises outside dining facilities, opulent pools, cool limestone and succulent planting supported by a rigorous, sustainable system.

The elaborate terraced landscape centres around a large lagoon pool and naturalistic water features, linking the hotel with the sea and the famous Pakleni islands. Underpinning this is a sophisticated system that includes water harvesting, concealed solar panels, and an extensive brown-roof made from recycled demolition debris and sustainable drainage.
